Purging my house and studio!
Have you ever walked into your studio and thought what am I doing holding on to all these supplies? Or all these books? Or what was I thinking when I decided to to try this medium?
Well that is where I am right now. I spend the last month purging rooms in my house. Clutter does not help your mental health at all. Now I can walk into a room and see what that room is really meant for, not just a storage room or dumping zone. Numerous mini van loads to donate to different thrift shops.
Now on to my office/mixed media studio in the house! Oh my goodness the amount of paper leaving filled a roll out recycling bin- copies of projects I wanted/needed to do that never happened, notes from the hundreds of classes I have taken over the years. I got rid aof a four drawer filing cabinet and a one drawer rolling filing cabinet. It feels amazing.
Tomorrow I start on my studio, Shangri La, with all her 18’ x 40’ goodness. I have students asking to look through what is purged and of course they will get first chance.
I just need to pare down and get realistic- how much can I use before I can’t use it any more?
There is so much! Alreay I feel good with the progress.
