Happy New Year!

When I woke up on New Year’s Day I thought how can it have been a year already? Where has the time gone. I guess as I get older the time goes faster. I better get myself in gear before this year is up and I have nothing to show for it.

When I looked out the window yesterday I was greeted by a visitor. I don’t know what to think with his visit.

Are you coming for me? I am not ready!

This year I am putting my heart into The 12 Week Year. Last year I said I would do it and I did not. I listened to the audio book and read along, hoping between the two of us it would sink in. I have the plan and here on Day 2 I am still following it. I will keep you posted so I can keep acountable. My accountability partners in LA and Deer Park will keep me on track also.

I have the Buffer Block and the Strategic Blocks on my planner and I have blocks blocked off in case of an emergency. I have weekly print outs of the tasks for the individual blocks. It’s a Girl Scout thing…Be prepared!

Projects on the workbench for January: Church Butterflies, lantern base- need to find some wood to make them, outdoor lantern prototype, square silver ring, layered copper and brass pendant, spoon rings and maybe a repair.

I do have work/production time blocked in the planner and weekly print outs.

I love this time of the year for Christmas candles in the windows and fires in the fireplace. Right now everyone in the house is here in the livingroom with me in front of the fire sleeping. My Dad was the best fire starter and would keep it going until after the kids went to bed. I do miss those Christmases with Mom and Dad in the house in South Worcester. We have so many memories to carry with us. I wish my children could have met their grandfather, Big Dad. He would have loved them and shown them how to run maple sugar, woodwork in his shop, rebuild a car engine, plant a super productive garden and gross things also like dress a deer, tie a carp up high in the river to flush it out, how to save an animal caught in a foot trap. He could do anything and everything. My Mom was a great cook and could feed 40+ people easy, she could find bargains anywhere, she made friend wherever she went. I am glad I got to apologize to her before she died for being a jerk teenager.

Wow, sorry about taking you down that rabbit hole. Reminicsing has a way of taking me off track.

What are your plans for the First 12 Weeks of 2025?

Wishing you a happy, healthy and productive 2025!
