Got htere pretty early and had good parking. Walked around the new layout, watched some of the games, the working dogs- Border Collies, walked through the Clans then went to Main Tent to see Glengarry Bhoys perform.

Lunch was Bridies, which were great. Watched more games and then the Glengarry Bhoys second set. Love this band. They have a new CD out, Eight. It was fun to have Ewan walk up to me taking photos during set, tried to keep up with him but could not focus fast enough. Then he ended up on the chair right there in front of me. D’Arcy changed from last year, his features matured quite a bit. Zig and Graham look the same. Ewan does not have the blonde highlights he did last fall.

I love that feeling and want to remember it every moment I can. That was until I met him, now I can feel that way when ever he is near by or on the phone or when I read emails from him. I so wish I could take a photograph of that feeling. I am trying to figure out how to put it in stained glass, still working on that.

When you find someone who makes you feel this way you never want to let go, you don’t want to share or to tell anyone because you are afraid it might go way. So secretly I will share but no names as then it will still be only me that knows who he is.

When we first met it was not with the intention of meeting or finding someone. It just was by chance, maybe that is the way it is supposed to be. I can still see in my mind’s eye his face when I first saw him across the room. He did not see me looking at him though later he said he felt someone looking at him. He felt it! I did not go over but just kept doing what I was doing and let time do its thing. Finally we crossed paths and spoke and it was like we were long lost friends about to rekindle a friendship after years of being apart. I felt like we had been together before or known each other before. He said it was like an old baseball glove, it felt familiar and fit just right.

We don’t have to be anyone but ourself when we are together. No changing to make the other happy, we can be happy with who we are. No demands, no games, no judging, no taking for granted. Just be yourself, be the best you that you can be, let me know and love you as you are. Oh I must be dreaming…. can this be real? Can this be true? Yes it can and yes it is.

Falling in love feels so good.

I dropped it off last night at the computer guy. I did website updates, CEUs for the TeleSeminar we had earlier in the month and a blast. Now I have a 4 day weekend!

Out to Lorton for the night… Wacky Wednesday Ladies Night. We went to pick on Rick and try to buy lead. He ended up coming over for pizza. Yes we had pizza night. Mary put a lead on her Celtic Knot. Martha and Chris put dowels in the stained glass cabinets to keep glass upright. Diana was there for moral support, which we always need.

Tomorrow we are grinding the frames for the NRA panels. And probably Friday and Saturday also since there are 40 of them.

My computer was all messed up and I could not use it except in safe mode. I did get the day’s work done but tomorrow I will need it up to full speed, starting to prepare CEUs for annual conference. I want to get all the paperwork done by the first week of September.

I worked on wire designs on paper for the stained glass pendants. About 30 new wire designs to add to the mix. Can’t wait to put them to wire.

I finished designing the cabinet door and oversink piece for the house in Massachusetts. It will be cool and I think the design will fit the family well. There is a wine bottle which will have a label from the family’s favorite wine, a glass of wine, a cheese assortment and a bunch of grapes. The above the sink piece has grapes and vines.

Wacky Wednesday night my students and I did a mini sweat shop and cut 36 frames for the NRA panels. David Barnes is engraving the NRA logo on clear glass. This week we will grind and start wrapping. I will be taking them to the conference in New Orleans to seel, a percentage will go to NRA.

I made the 3D star sample for Star’s. My students at Belvoir loved the design and were amazed at how quickly it went together. Cruella was going to drop off the 3D star and the triptych today after the big party at the Hilton last night with Cruella, Pokey and Shawn.

I set up a scrapbooking table in my home studio so that I can work on the kids scrapbooks and hopefully get Michelle’s done for her graduation in December. I finished Nanook’s scrapbook. One down four to go! The kids and Scotland. This will be my after work after class project at night till her’s is done. Good plan that I need to stick to.

Daily blog? Where did that idea go? I had big plans to to post daily but it went out the door. I put it off till tomorrow which turned into a few days which turned into a week.

Today Naook chased the mother deer and her two fawns, tried to let him out front so he would not chase them but he snuck around back and chased them anyway. The doe went to the right and the fawns to left. Nanook followed the fawns but gave up the chase at the edge of the woods.

Looking back…. free time was spent getting ready for Featured Artist at Lorton, finishing up hummingbird sidelights, making diplays pieces for the display cases I was gifted by Patricia Woodhouse of Bead Obessions. Thank you Patricia. Made 40 pottery pendants and stained glass pendants. Designed NRA mini panel for Nancy’s going away gift. Made 2 service stars, 4 business card holders, designed Dee’s over the sink piece and started new class at Ft. Belvoir.

At home… Patrick came home, was home a week than went to South Carolina with afriend to hang out on the beach and ride bikes. Meagan is working and trying to get a second job and is starting process to join Coast Guard. Michelle is in her new apartment and starting her last semester before she graduates with her Masters.

At work…. Nancy has left NRA ans we have a new membership director, Careis. I will miss Nancy already. New Orleans is not going to be the same without her. We are getting together for a girls night on August 21 with Cruella and Shawn.

Featured Artist Art Walk went well last night. Lots of people coming through and leads on future projects. It was a great night. Irma made a stained glass cake for me.

Today I worked on the stained glass necklace with 5 pendants and cut clear glass for the NRA mini panels. I know I have said this before but I will try  to blog on a regular basis. Would love to say daily but we all know better.

Hope everyone has a nice week.

I am one of the Featured Artist in Gallery 9 at Lorton Workhouse for August. I have also been finishing up a custom order of stained glass side lights. I had to reorder the clear glass as some was from a different lot and had a green tint, it took two weeks to get all matching clear glass. The sidelights look great.

I have also been making panels and finishing up stained glass and pottery shard pendants. A new commission is on the drafting table. I was gifted three wonderful display cases from Patricia Woodhouse after she closed her bead store, Bead Obsessions. Thank you Patricia- one is in the Gallery and two are in my studio. Speaking of studio, my studio is really shaping up. There are still things I want to do and make of course. I have become pretty good with the circular saw. And I love my glass band saw. I used it to cut two more service stars, the first two turned out so nicely and people have been asking for them.

If only I had more hours in the day then I could make all the projects on my honey do list.

Tiffany Window

I was lucky enough to get to go to Richmond this weekend to see the Tiffany Exhibit at the Virginia Fine Arts Museum. We went down Friday to the Museum and toured the exhibit that is only going to three places- Paris, NYC and Richmond. What a special show. The pieces were amazing. The VFAM as has pieces in their collection.

My grass stopped growing and has turned brown so this is a welcome rain. It has been coming down for hours. Rivers are running down my driveway and the mini lap pool off back walk way is filling up. It is really just the lawn that is against the sidewalk and about 2 feet wide by 20 feet long fills with water, if it were deep you could lap but it get mid calf deep on good rain days. Today I do love the rain. I do not know how it will affect the Ice Cream Social at Lorton this afternoon. I got the two most beautiful bowls for myself and a friend. Carl made them, the glaze he used is just beautiful. I will wash it tonight and try to remember to post a photo.

Well this past week has been busy. I cut the clear glass for the hummingbirds just to find out it is from two different lots, one grey and one blue. The grey looks dirty next to the blue so I had to order more clear glass. It came in Friday so I will cut the replacement pieces today. The rest is ground and ready to wrap. While waiting I soldered the two Victorian panels, just need to frame them. Mary, Martha and Diana came to help Mary start soldering her iris panel, it looks great and we have so much fun, lots of laughing, a really great group of ladies. Mary came Thursday afternoon to solder some more.

Michelle went back to Tampa, her visit was way too short, they always are. I miss having her around. It was a good visit. Patrick went to Florida with his father to visit that side of his family. Meagan has been working all week, inventory and price changes.

During NRA work I submitted for and got approved for CEUs for our TeleSeminar with Lynnae Ruttledge, Commissioner of RSA, that we are having in August. Normal workday stuff, address changes, website updates, fielding calls.

Class at Star’s went well. There were three students and all finished great pieces. Wish I could offer open workshops at Lorton, will need to check into that. I think many people would come if it were available. Dropped stuff off at Artful Gifts. Peggy is such a hoot. They are having a Dog Wash July 18 to raise money for HART. If I were in town Nanook would be going.

Finally get a place for the Arlington Jewelry class since TJ is under construction so class is back on. The 45 minutes I spent with the class June 28, the class is going to be fun. Here were ladies who signed up for class, showed up and waited 45 minutes in the heat to see if we could get in the school or find another place and were patient for almost two weeks while I called and emailed to get something set up. We did lose one person. I will have a special project for them.

Well it seems the rain stopped, it is still very dark out,, maybe more rain on the schedule for the day. Patrick went to the pool to cheer on his team. We thought he would not be here for this week and last week but his father’s plans changed so he has been home both days, so much for making plans then changing them only to find out you didn’t have to. Grr!

Tonight is Art Walk at Lorton…. 6 to 9pm. All studios and Galleries are open and Featured Artists on display. Food in every building, following the Ice Cream Social earlier in the day! If you can you should really come to Art Walk 2nd Saturday of the month. Next month the featured artists in Building 9 will be …… Kim Joy and Carol Hamilton! Yes I will be one of the featured artists!

I need to get going out to Lorton and get working. Have a beautiful day and keep art in your heart.
