I’m back
OK I feel off the face of the earth for awhile. It has been a crazy two weeks. I got scabbies from who knows where and was treated for that. The scabbies meds work wonderfully. Luckily we practice good hand washing and no one else in house got them. Then I ended up with pink eye and after 3 days of burning drops and blurred vision found out I was allergic to the meds and that my eyes were abraited from burns. Yes I could not see, everything looked like I was looking out car windshield with rain drops on it at night. Not a good feeling at all. And during this all Patrick had a fever and was sent home from school for three days and we ended up at doctor’s for him also. Bad cold and lots of mucus. It was hell driving, but there was no backup driver. I lost three days at work and that sucked because I was behind anyway from trip to Louisville. Could not do any art as I could not see. Cancelled all classes as to not share pink eye and because vision was impaired. Waking up everyday with your eyes sealed shut with mucus is not fun. Found out baby shampoo is best to clear up all the mess and it does not hurt your eyes. Now I can see though left eye still has enlarged tissue in corner and both are red and bloodshot looking, lower lids are heavy. When the eyesight cleared up I was so thankful and just spent hours outside looking at trees, leaves and blades of grass which were blurry and apinful days earlier. We take so much for granted. I need to remember this all the time and look at things through new eyes. There are so many beautiful things out there to look at and appreciate.
After I was finally able to drive safely I emptied out the storage unit, took three trips by myself and then a double mini van caravan with the Higginbothams to bring home Michelle’s furniture. My dining room is now a storage unit! I will be going through boxes ans weeding in house and shed so that it all can go to shed. Everyone has told me I am a pack rat but now I see it. Ok half the stuff in dining room is Michelle’s ( I love you Michelle). Over the last year we have lost 1800 sq ft of living/storage space, moving in July 08 from 3200 sf to 1800 sf and then May 09 from 1800 sf to 1400 sf, hard to find room for it all. I have taken probably 10 mini van loads to the thrift shop on base to donate and have Purple Heart pick up a huge load. Still I need to get serious before next move. Also need to liquidate some glass as that is a bear to move. Books also.
Today I am going to solder some pendants for class on Tuesday night. They have been sitting on the work bench for two weeks. I do not know if class will run as only four people have signed up but I will pack my class bag in case. Also have two panels to finish and one to repair sitting on bench. I did rearrange studio while I was down. Took out jewelry worktable and put wheeled workbench there on risers, which opened up the room. Put carpet down drom old studio and wicker chair with cushion for relaxing in studio or for friend to sit on while I work and visit. It looks good and dual purpose, now I can sit and flip through binders with ideas and have a cup of coffee. Loving how it is growing.
Big news…. started Pilates today. Got a pilates machine yesterday, brand new, from a lady and Meagan said it would sit. Well today I did 30 minute workout. I fould I can not do Elephant as my lower body has no strength. First day is the hardest and first month will be toughest, to build this into my routine. I need to do this though, been exercise less since I had to quit Curves. Walking the dog is good but even the 3 mile walk does not do enough for the rest of the body. I need to challange myself to keep going, a prize maybe? I need all the encouragement I can get to keep this up.
